Money pouring into legislative races
McAuliffe leads all local candidates in fundraising for the Nov. 6 general election, followed by incumbent Democratic 1st District State Rep. Derek Stanford, Republican 1st District candidate McCravey and incumbent Democratic 32nd District State Rep. Cindy Ryu.
McAuliffe had reported raising $112,714 and spending $80,948 through Thursday, with $93,272 in independent expenditures supporting her and $17,458 opposing her. Republican challenger McCravey has raised $82,259 and spent $66,032
Stanford reports raising $94,582 and spending $72,327, with support from independent expenditures of $33,370. Republican challenger Sandy Guinn has raised $11,209 and spent $10,046.
In the third 1st Legislative District contest, incumbent Democratic State Rep. Luis Moscoso has raised $63,918 and spent $46,799, while challenger Mark Davies reports raising $375 and spending $369. Davies is running with the support of local Republicans but will appear on the ballot with no party preference because he qualified for the general election as an unregistered write-in candidate.
The 1st District includes most of Mountlake Terrace, all of Brier and Bothell, part of Kirkland, unincorporated areas of King County between Bothell and Kirkland, and unincorporated areas of Snohomish County north and east of Bothell.
Ryu reports raising $78,410 and spending $54,279. The other 32nd District Democratic incumbent, Ruth Kagi, has raised $62,107 and spent $51,706. Neither Ryu's Republican opponent, Randy Hayden, nor Kagi's Republican opponent, Robert Reedy, has raised or spent the $5,000 that requires regular reporting.
The 32nd District includes Lynnwood, part of Mountlake Terrace, south Edmonds, Woodway and nearby unincorporated areas of southwest Snohomish County, Shoreline and part of northwest Seattle.
Incumbent Democratic 21st District State Rep. Marko Liias reports raising $46,238 and a $41,822 to no fundraising or spending for Republican challenger Kevin Morrison. Unopposed incumbent Democratic State Rep. Mary Helen Roberts has raised $15,350 and spent $10,667.
The 21st District includes most of Edmonds, all of Mukilteo and part of south Everett.
