Injured teen airlifted off Mount Pilchuck

VERLOT -- A 14-year-old Granite Falls boy was airlifted off Mount Pilchuck after suffering injuries in a fall Sunday afternoon, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office.
Shortly after 12:30 p.m. deputies received a report that the boy had fallen about 100 yards down the mountain and may have been seriously injured, Lt. Brent Speyer said.
The county's search-and-rescue unit sent its SnoHawk10 helicopter to the mountain, which flew the boy down to a waiting fire department aid car.
The boy was taken to a local hospital for treatment and his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, Speyer said.
