Snohomish County unemployment dips slightly


Snohomish County's unemployment rate dipped in August to 8.3 percent but is only slightly lower than in August 2011, when the county's rate was 8.6 percent, according to report released Tuesday by the state Employment Security Department.

The county's jobless rate fell 0.5 percent from July to August this year. Last month, there were 31,800 people unemployed in the county. A year ago, the county had 33,160 people who were jobless.
