Archbishop Murphy

Allow us time to heal and grow

As a student at Archbishop Murphy High School, it saddens me to constantly read such negative things coming from a newspaper that I truly respect and enjoy reading. It is hard to feel the need to constantly defend my school; a school that I adore, and that I support one hundred percent.
My experience since starting at AMHS in 2009 has been fantastic. I have a lot of respect for the entire faculty, and am confident in the abilities of the entire new administrative team. I support their decision to hire Coach Allison and respect him as a teacher, coach, and leader. He is a kind man with strong morals and an admirable ability to lead. The allegations made against him in 2009 have been dealt with and were not attempted to be kept from the public in anyway; Mr. Zander stated that he was aware of said allegations when he hired Coach Allison. I know that Mr. Zander would not make any decision that he thought would put students in any kind of harm.
So I ask you, please give the students and staff of Archbishop Murphy room to heal and grow, after the ordeal we have been put through. Please focus on all of the positive things happening at my school and stop putting so much pressure on the students to defend a school that we all love. We are a family, and through prayer, time and the support of others, we will we get through any hardship.
