SNOHOMISH -- Two men in their 20s were transported to the hospital Monday morning after being hit by a car that drove away from the scene.

The hit-and-run crash occurred around 5:30 a.m. as they walked along 123rd Avenue SE near the intersection of Three Lakes Road, Snohomish County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Shari Ireton said.

The vehicle immediately fled the scene.

The victims are 26 and 22, both from Snohomish.

Both were transported to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett and one victim had what were believed to be serious, but not life-threatening injuries, Ireton said.

Detectives with the Collision Investigative Unit are investigating.
