Here’s a roundup of some of the more interesting police blotter bits from around the county over the past few weeks. Most identifying details are removed.
Arlington: A female was issued a criminal citation for shoplifting from (the store). She tried to conceal the items in a baby seat.
Everett: A father purchases new bikes for his kids to replace the ones stolen the day before. The kids help get the bikes out of the car and put them under the stairs outside their building. The time is 10 p.m. Remembering the theft, the father asks if the kids locked up the bikes. When they answer “no,” he goes outside and the bikes are gone. The time is 10:03 p.m. … a police report is taken, but there are no suspects and the bikes have not been found.
Everett: Officers are dispatched to the report of a fight between males involving a bat and rocks. As the first officer arrives, a man in the alley immediately drops his bat, puts his hands up and is detained. The officer observes the male is bleeding from his head. A neighbor tells officers another man is lying in the alley with head wounds as well. After both males are detained, they refuse aid. Both independently state they are friends who had been drinking at a get-together when the other began yelling and attacked for no reason. To protect themselves, each found the nearest stick or rock … Neither wanted to press charges and both agreed to call it a night.
Everett: A man goes to a national shipping company with a package addressed to a location out of state. The man claims the package contains hair coloring products, but employees believe they smell marijuana. The package is opened and marijuana is found. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Everett: Just after midnight, a male calls 911 to report he has an outstanding warrant and also states he has been drinking alcohol in anticipation of his pending arrest. When officers arrive at the apartment, the male tries leaving out the back door — still holding his alcohol container. Officers quickly contact the male and arrest him for booking into county jail
Monroe: Three subjects (were) caught putting potatoes in tail pipes.
Mukilteo: A neighbor reported that a fan was making too much noise. The officer determined that the fan was a bathroom exhaust fan and was not unreasonably loud.
Mukilteo: (Caller) reported a male outside, walking back and forth, yelling “Hello.” Officers contacted subject who was consoling a very sad friend, who was crying.
Mukilteo: (Caller) called to report a garter snake was outside of the house. Officer phoned the caller and advised her to leave the harmless snake alone
Mukilteo: Officers checked the area for a report of a male placing a “fake cat” in the roadway to disturb traffic. Officers found nothing suspicious in the area.
Mukilteo: (Caller) reported she found a white bird in a tree. It was too high up to retrieve. The Fire Dept. reported they attempted to retrieve the bird earlier in the day, but it was too high up the tree for them to reach.
Mukilteo: (Caller) reported hearing sounds of a male and female arguing in the complex. Officers contacted a male and female. They denied arguing, but said they were being loud while in the bedroom. There were no signs of a disturbance.
Mukilteo: (Caller) reported that a neighbor had borrowed a cookbook and was now refusing to return it. Officer advised her on the procedure for small claims court.
Stanwood: On 9-2-12, a theft which occurred on 8/1 (at the victim’s house) was reported. Victim advised he began noticing items missing from his residence shortly after he began dating a female.
