OLYMPIA — The Washington State Republican Party is providing gubernatorial candidate Rob McKenna with a late flood of cash.
Finance reports Wednesday showed that party officials recently gave some $1.5 million to aid McKenna’s campaign. Democratic opponent Jay Inslee previously got more than $1 million in cash support from his party.
McKenna has now collected more than $12 million in cash and in-kind contributions compared to Inslee’s $10.5 million.
Both candidates have already spent much of their campaign money. McKenna reported having $2.2 million left to spend, but most of that was already dedicated to reserved ad time. Inslee reported having $1.2 million remaining.
