SPOKANE — Police say a man in a hockey mask shattered the back door of a north Spokane apartment Thursday night and shot a resident.
The 56-year-old victim had surgery for a wound in his abdomen that was considered life-threatening.
Police searched the area around the apartment with a dog but were unable to track down the gunman.
The victim’s two teenage children were home at the time of the break-in but were not physically hurt.
