EDMONDS — A man who led tellers to believe he was armed robbed a bank in Edmonds Monday afternoon.
The robbery of a KeyBank in the 9900 block of Edmonds Way was reported shortly after 2:30 p.m., Edmonds police Sgt. Mike Blackburn said.
As a precaution, Westgate and Sherwood elementary schools as well as Scriber Lake High School were placed in lockdown.
The suspect is described as being between 20 and 30 years old and about 5-foot-9, with a thin build. He was wearing a gray and green beanie-type cap, an olive green sweater and baggy blue jeans.
The suspect left the bank on foot.
Edmonds police with the help of a Lynnwood police dog conducted a search of the surrounding area, but weren’t able to locate the suspect.
