SEATTLE — A King County Jail official says a 66-year-old inmate has died at a Seattle hospital.
Cmdr. William Hayes said Monday that the Seattle man was booked into the jail in downtown Seattle last Friday on warrants alleging domestic violence assault and property destruction. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center on Friday night because of what Hayes described as “medical issues.”
The man died Saturday. His name was not immediately released.
The King County medical examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
Hayes says an internal investigation is planned, as is standard for jail-related deaths.
