KENMORE — The state puts tolls on some bridges, and now a city is thinking of putting a toll on a bridge.
The north Seattle suburb of Kenmore says it needs about $30 million to replace a 74-year-old bridge over the Sammamish River.
Mayor David Baker told KIRO-TV that many of the 24,000 people crossing the bridge each day are avoiding the toll on the Highway 520 floating bridge.
The toll bridge question could go to Kenmore voters next year.
