Prep boys tennis: 3A District Tournament

MILL CREEK — The favorites — Stanwood’s Jonathan Wolf and Meadowdale’s Nick Ekern — advanced to the singles championship match of Northwest District 1 3A boys tennis tounament, each earning a spot in the spring’s 3A state tournament.

In doubles it will be a showdown of the two Shoreline schools in the final as Shorecrest’s Chris Sato and Nick North advanced to play Shorewood’s Cameron McDowell and Stuart Schachle for the championship. Consolation matches for both singles and doubles will resume today, with the eventual winners getting the third state berths.

The District 1 boys tennis tournament continues today at 1 p.m. at Stanwood H.S. if the weather cooperates or indoors at Resilience Fitness in Stanwood if conditions are wet.
