Spokane officer cleared in shooting

SPOKANE -- A Spokane police officer has been cleared by the Spokane County Prosecutor's Office for shooting a man armed with a BB gun.
Officer Ron Van Tassel responded last June to the report of a man firing a weapon. He arrived to find 24-year-old Jesse H. Johnson pointing a rifle at another man.
Tassel fired one round, wounding Johnson in the leg. Johnson has since recovered from his injuries and faces drug-related charges.
