Arlington: Duck Dash prize goes unclaimed

Can you help Chuck Tripp claim the $5,000 prize he won on July 4?

Since 1988, the Rotary Club of Arlington has put on the Great Stilly Duck Dash rubber ducky race to raise money to benefit the communities of Arlington, Lakewood and Darrington. For the first time in 24 years, the top prize has gone unclaimed.

Arlington: Library hosts teen movie series

Watch ragdolls band together to survive in a dangerous post-apocalyptic world at Teen Movie Night, 7 p.m. Friday at the library, 135 N. Washington Ave.

Snacks will be provided by the Friends of the Arlington Library.

Arlington: Black Cat Ball Saturday

Purrfect Pals of Arlington hosts its big annual fundraiser Saturday at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue. Proceeds from the Black Cat Ball and auction will support the non-profit, no-kill cat shelter and sanctuary.

Camano Island: Halloween dance Friday

Camano Junction plays big band music at a Halloween dance from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday at the Camano Center, 606 Arrowhead Road.

Costumes are optional. Tickets are to be sold at the door. Light snacks are included and a cash bar is to be available. Proceeds support programs at the community and senior center.

Edmonds: Superintendent to meet with parents

Edmonds schools Superintendent Nick Brossoit will hold four meetings this fall across the district to give highlights on the school year and take questions. Lynnwood: Smilemobile still has openings

The Smilemobile will visit Cedar Valley Community School in Lynnwood on Monday, delivering dental care to children with limited family income. Appointments are available for Edmonds School District families meeting the eligibility requirements. Call 425-431-7390 for more information.

Marysville: All City Food Drive coming Nov. 3

Donations of money, food and unused toys will be collected Nov. 3 during the annual Marysville All City Food Drive.

Volunteers are scheduled to collect donations at the Marysville mall Albertsons, and Fred Meyer, Grocery Outlet, Haggen, IGA and Safeway stores in Marysville and Smokey Point.

Red barrels located throughout the city starting Nov. 3 will continue to collect food and toys throughout the holiday season. Donations can be dropped off at the Marysville Community Food Bank, located at 4150 80th St NE behind St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Mukilteo: Kamiak High School hosts Dramafest

A marathon of student plays are set to be performed Saturday at Kamiak High School.

The school’s 20th annual Dramafest includes 11 one-act plays that are scheduled from noon to 5 p.m. High school seniors in the drama department direct their peers in the series of plays.

Tickets to the event are available at the door and cost $10, or $5 for students and seniors. The high school is at 10801 Harbour Pointe Blvd.

Snohomish: Safe driving forum set

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Collision Investigation Unit is scheduled to present a free collision education awareness class for all drivers, young and old, from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Snohomish High School, 1316 5th St, Snohomish.

Organizers say the event could be especially valuable for student drivers and their parents.

Classes include vehicle exhibits and a staged pedestrian collision.
