Pink the Rink: Five hundred free tickets are available for the Everett Silvertips’ Pink the Rink Night, a benefit to provide free mammograms for low-income women in Snohomish County. The event begins at 7:05 p.m. Saturday at Comcast Arena, 2000 Hewitt Ave. The tickets are available to anyone who has been affected by breast cancer and may be reserved at the website: www.everettsilvertips.com/breastcancer. The event is part of the game between the Silvertips and the Seattle Thunderbirds.
Preview new textbooks: Next fall, students in advanced math courses at each of the high schools in the Everett School District will be using new textbooks.
Parents, staff, students and community members are invited to browse the materials being considered and to share their comments at one of the three math adoption open house events: Monday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Everett High School Library, 2416 Colby Ave.; Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Jackson High School, 1508 136th St. SE, Mill Creek; and Nov. 1 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Penny Creek Elementary School math portable, 4117 132nd St. SE, Everett.
