MONROE -- Maddie Seckman scored on a long-range shot and freshman goalkeeper Shannon Peth managed to keep a Monroe penalty out of the Kamiak net to extend the Knights' season in a 4A District 1 loser out match. Seckman put Kamiak in front in the 23rd minute on a 30-yard strike. Peth, stepping in for senior goalie Emma Makela who was away on an official college visit, prevented the Bearcats' second-half penalty kick from crossing the line after the initial shot hit the post. Kamiak advances to play Cascade on Tuesday.
