SNOHOMISH — Jackson beat Snohomish 3-0 in a semifinal match of the 4A District 1 volleyball tournament. The Timberwolves took advantage of a little rest after beating Mount Vernon 3-0 in the first round to gain an edge over the Panthers, who went a full five sets against Edmonds-Woodway earlier in the evening.
“Jackson definitely came out playing hard,” said Snohomish head coach Alex Tarin. Tarin said his team put up a fight in every set — the Panthers got to 22 in both of the first two — but the previous match may have tired them out a bit too much.
With the win, Jackson secures state playoff spot and moves on to play Monroe in the championship match at 7 p.m. Thursday.
