Halloween’s here: Looking for last-minute happenings for Halloween? A list of events from readings of Edgar Allen Poe’s “The Raven” to a host of haunted houses to a pumpkin parade are available at www.HeraldNet.com/Halloween. The webpage also includes some favorite stories leading up to the holiday.
A Herald tradition: The Herald’s annual “Ways to Give” feature is scheduled to run in the newspaper Nov. 18.
Ways to Give provides our readers with information about the nonprofit, charitable groups in Snohomish and Island counties that depend on donations and volunteers to provide services during the holiday season.
To be listed in Ways to Give, please send us the name of your organization, what services you provide, hours, address, a phone number to be included in the listing, a phone number for confirmation, and what items, services or volunteer help you need.
Submit the information by Nov. 9 to Herald reporter Gale Fiege, P.O. Box 930, Everett, WA, 98206, or email gfiege@heraldnet.com. For more information about Ways to Give, call 425-339-3427.
Property tax reminder: People who pay their property taxes directly to Snohomish County need to get the checks in the mail. Today is the deadline for those bills to be postmarked.
The county sends out statements for bills due in April and October. The second half of the tax payment this year is due today on Halloween.
