Prep volleyball: Lake Stevens 3, Eastlake 1

BELLEVUE — In a winner-to-state/loser out match on the road, the Lake Stevens volleyball team came through with a 25-18, 26-28, 25-20, 27-25 victory over Eastlake in the District 1 4A tournament to earn the Vikings their first state tourney appearance in 23 years. Alexis Alverson led the Lake Stevens offense with 20 kills, getting help from Emily Vandergrift (14 kills) and Kahlia Kelliher (13 kills). Kendall Swanson added eight kills, seven aces and 14 digs.
