Arlington: ‘Arsenic and Old Lace’ to play at high school
Arlington High School is set to offer a production of “Arsenic and Old Lace.”
Shows are to be held at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, as well as Nov. 16 and 17. Ticket prices are $7 or $10 and are available online at www.byrnesperformingarts.org or at the door at 6:30 p.m.
The 1940s-era play features Mario Mirante as Mortimer Brewster, a man who wonders if it’s fair to bring his fiancee, played by Hailey Thomas, into a family that includes two doting maiden aunts, played by Grace McWatters and Greyson Baden, who murder lonely old men by treating them to elderberry wine served with arsenic, strychnine and a pinch of cyanide.
Genealogy group offers Civil War presentation
The Stillaguamish Valley Genealogical Society plans a presentation about Civil War pensions and records at 1 p.m. Tuesday at 730 E. Highland Drive.
Eric Stroschein, a genealogist particularly knowledgeable about the research of military and land records, plans to talk about using the National Archives.
Also, Mary Buzzell helps people use computer genealogy computer programs at 1 p.m. on the first and third Wednesdays of each month at the society’s library, 215 S. French Ave.

Everett: Mariner High School offers play
Mariner High School drama students are to present “Anne of Green Gables” at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and Nov. 15-17 in the Little Theatre on the campus at 200 120th St. SW in south Everett.
Tickets are available at the door for $7 general admission, $5 for students and $3 for senior citizens and children. The play is based on the literary heroine created by L.M. Montgomery.
Stanwood: Stillaguamish Grange sets concert
Stillaguamish Grange 1058, based at the Stanwood Camano Fairgrounds, is coming back from the brink of dissolution. To celebrate, members are offering a concert by Johnny Cash tribute singer Matt Audette of Whatcom County.
