EDMONDS -- Police are warning neighbors about a car prowl spree reported early Monday in Edmonds.
The prowlers targeted vehicles on 220th Street SW between the 8400 and 8700 blocks, Edmonds police Sgt. Mike Blackburn said Wednesday. Police are actively pursuing leads.
In the meantime, they remind people to lock their vehicles and not leave valuables visible. This year in Edmonds, nearly three-quarters of car prowls involved unlocked vehicles.
In most cases where windows were broken, valuable property had been visible inside, Blackburn said.
People are encouraged to report suspicious activity, including possible car prowls, to 911.
Anyone with tips about the recent spree can leave tips for Edmonds police at 425-771-0212.
