50 years ago (1962)
William M. Jenkins, executive vice president and manager of the Everett Division of Seattle-First National Bank, was named chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Seafirst. Henry G. Dahl Jr. became the manager of the Everett division.
A 1913 Buick touring car was recently “rediscovered” at Claude Hugley’s service station at 3420 Everett Ave. Art Sandvig, 2405 Baker Ave., a former owner of the building, took the car in payment for a $30 gas bill in 1937. Only the top of the old Buick was showing when Sanvig started moving materials in the shop. He now had the car in storage at his home.
25 years ago (1987)
John Kuolt had joined San Juan Airlines as vice president in charge of marketing and sales. Kuolt formerly held the same position with Horizon Airlines. San Juan planned to begin commuter-connecter flights between Snohomish County’s Paine Field and Portland this month.
Eve Boe, David Deschenes, Andrew Goetz and Melinda Jackson had joined the staff at Fankhauser Physical Therapy, 3732 Colby Ave. Boe was a certified athletic trainer, Deschenes was a hand therapist, Goetz was a physical therapist and Jackson an occupational therapist.
