Interest in King County Council seat grows

SEATTLE -- Two people with Snohomish County ties are interested in replacing state Attorney General-elect Bob Ferguson on the King County Council.
One is Will Hall, a senior legislative analyst with the Snohomish County Council. Hall, 49, serves on the Shoreline City Council and earlier served on that city's Planning Commission. He has worked for Snohomish County since 1999.
Also interested in the job is state Rep. Cindy Ryu, a Shoreline businesswoman whose 32nd Legislative District covers part of Edmonds, Woodway and northwest King County. When new district boundaries take effect next year, the district will include parts of Lynnwood and Mountlake Terrace as well. Before being elected to the Legislature, Ryu, 54, served one term on the Shoreline City Council.
King County Executive Dow Constantine will nominate three qualified candidates after election results are certified Nov. 27. The King County Council will make the final decision.
Ferguson's opponent, fellow King County Councilman Reagan Dunn, conceded the race Thursday morning, after results showed him trailing 47 to 53 percent.
