EVERETT -- Two funds have been established to help a family whose 7-year-old son was killed in a car accident last week.

The funds will help with funeral expenses and other costs.

They were established by Madison Elementary School teacher Cheryl Fernandez. She teaches at the school where Josiah Alves was a second grader. She also is a neighbor of his family.

The accounts are the Josiah Alves Memorial Fund and the Alves Family Donation Fund at Wells Fargo Bank.

Josiah, 7, was a passenger in a car involved in a traffic collision on Evergreen Way on Oct. 30.
