I couldn’t help but wonder about the motive behind Democrat Suzan DellBene’s decision to buy a House seat worth $174,000 a year. The Herald reports that she spent $2.8 million of her own money, plus contributions to win the open seat in the 1st Congressional District. Was it an altruistic move on her part as a way to “serve” the public? If so, I would suggest that the money could have been better spent in many other ways. Or, was it a raw bid for power? If that is the case, I certainly would not want to work for her.
