Green Everett Partnership, an effort of Everett Parks &Recreation and the nonprofit Forterra, host a brief presentation and open discussion about the city’s urban forest health, followed by the partnership’s 20-year strategic plan and the forest stewards volunteer program.

A Railroad Runs Through It: 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday at the Oso Firehall, 21824 State Route 530 NE, Arlington. The Centennial Trail Coalition of Snohomish County invites the public to hear Bob Heirman, author of “A Railroad Runs Through It: Reflections from Everett to Darrington,” who will speak about local railroad history.

Red Solo Cup Party: starts at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 13 club, 1216 Broadway, Everett. The open house event includes a contest to see who can make the most creative thing out of red plastic cups. BAZAARS

Craft Bazaar &Bake Sale: 9 a.m.–4 p.m. Saturday at Oak Heights Elementary School, 15500 18th Ave. W. in Lynnwood. This is a fundraiser for the sixth-grade class trip in June to Camp Orkila on Orcas Island. Proceeds help fund scholarships for those who cannot cover the full cost.

Holiday Craft &Gift Bazaar: 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday at the Camano Center, 606 Arrowhead Road, Camano Island. Over 50 vendors vendors with handmade items, bake sale, and lunch and beverages available for purchase.

Holiday Bazaar: 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at the Snohomish Senior Center, 506 Fourth St. Handmade items, cafe and bake sale.

Holiday Fair: 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday in the gym at Holy Rosary church and school, 630 Seventh Ave. N., Edmonds. Baked goods, handmade gifts, “new again” household items and holiday decorations plus raffle items.

Holiday Bazaar: 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church, 6708 Cady Road, Everett. A wide variety of handmade items, baked goods, jams, homemade cookies, breads and a silent auction table. Lunch will be available for a nominal charge. Proceeds benefit several local and church-related nonprofits.

Holiday Garden Art &Crafts: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at the Gleneagle Country Club, located at 7619 E. Country Club Dr., Arlington. The Arlington Garden Club hosts this first-time event featuring handmade crafts, art and gifts for children, adults, pets, homes and gardens. Raffle to benefit the Arlington Food Bank features a fused glass window.

Bazaar &Bake Sale: 12-4 p.m. Saturday at American Legion Auxiliary Unit 76, 115 N. Olympic Ave. in Arlington. All proceeds go towards supporting veterans.

Stuff the Bus: The Lakewood School District Transportation Department plans a food drive 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at the Smokey Point Walmart store, 4010 172nd St. NE, Arlington. Donations benefit the Arlington and Marysville food banks as well as the Stillaguamish Senior Center.

Donate cellphones: Domestic Violence Services of Snohomish County is recycling cellphones. Even without service, cellphones can call 911 when charged. Phones may be dropped off at the New and Again Thrift Shoppe, 3116 Rucker Ave., Everett, which is open Tuesday through Saturday. Senior Services needs drivers: Senior Services of Island County, facilitating agency of the Meals-on-Wheels program at the Camano Center, is in desperate need of a few dedicated volunteers to help deliver meals and smiles to home-bound Camano Island seniors. Hours will be 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays. Drivers are reimbursed 50 cents per mile driven to help offset the cost of fuel. Treats for Troops: Through Thursday, drop off candy to send to troops in Afghanistan. Holiday donations for food bank: The Snohomish Community Food Bank expects to feed 425 families for Thanksgiving and Christmas this year. The food bank seeks groups of people willing to “sponsor” a certain menu item and bring in from 100 to 425 of that item. It also is asking for turkeys, hams and whole chickens. Hospital gift shop help: Providence General Children’s Association seeks volunteers for its hospital gift shops. All proceeds from the gift shops go towards children in the Northwest region in need. Donate: Goldwing Touring Association Chapter C, a motorcycle group based in Everett, is sponsoring a toy and clothing drive to benefit Christmas House. The drive runs through Dec. 10. VOA needs drivers: The Volunteers of America food banks in Everett and Sultan need volunteer drivers for their senior home delivery and grocery pick-up services on weekdays. Training is provided. Volunteers must have a valid driver’s license and pass a background check. The Everett Distribution Center also needs warehouse volunteers, who must be able to lift 30-plus pounds. Humane Society: HappyPaws Farm needs volunteers to walk dogs on Saturday afternoons.
