Kristiansen retains leadership post

Republicans in the state House of Representatives are keeping the core of their leadership team together for 2013.

Today, at a meeting in Cle Elum, they re-elected Rep. Richard DeBolt, R-Chehalis, as House Minority Leader and Rep. Joel Kretz, R-Wauconda, as deputy leader. DeBolt has served as minority leader since 2006.

Rep. Dan Kristiansen, R-Snohomish, won a third term as chairman of the caucus, a role which requires him to preside over the hours of closed-door meetings before floor votes on bills.

Kristiansen will be serving his sixth term in the 39th Legislative District which encompasses parts of east Snohomish and Skagit counties.
