Holiday Open House: Country Village, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 17 at 23718 Bothell-Everett Highway, Bothell; this annual open house has demos, gift and decorating ideas, a local carving artist in action at 2 p.m., luminary lighting at 4 p.m., complimentary hot roasted chestnuts from 4 to 6 p.m. and thousands of twinkling lights. A Wine Walk occurs from 5 to 8 p.m. and benefits the Northshore Performing Arts Center Foundation. Advance tickets are $20 or $25 at the door or go to www.npacf.org.
Meet the Mammals!: Seventh annual Family Day Event at the Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture where visitors can meet hundreds of specimens from the mammalogy collection on display; there's also hands-on activities such as putting together a life-sized orca skeleton or making your own mammal mask to take home; Meet the Mammals is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 17 at Burke Museum, on the University of Washington campus, at the corner of NE 45th St. and 17th Ave. NE. "Danny, King of the Basement": Danny uses his imaginative secret agent life to help himself and his friends overcome the realities of a tough childhood which includes hunger and a lack of things most kids take for granted. When Danny runs away in search of his long absent father, he realizes friendships and truth are the foundation for a real home.
