Puget Sound Artists Gift Show: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 17, ArtWorks Building, Second and Dayton streets, Edmonds; 30 local professional artists have created gallery quality gift itmes at affordable prices such as pottery, jewelry, photography, prints, calendars, wood turning, paintings, cards, silk and cashmere scarves, fine chocolates, local honey and artisan soaps.

Sculptors Workshop Holiday Sale: Decorative and functional pottery, garden art, vases, mirrors, platters, mugs, plates and bowls are among the hundreds of artworks by local artists of this pottery co-operative; 1 to 8 p.m. Nov. 16 and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 17, Frances Anderson Center, 700 Dayton Ave., Edmonds. “Waterworks 2012”: The Northwest Watercolor Society is presenting its 21st annual Waterworks 2012 Membership Exhibition through Nov. 28 at Kaewyn Gallery, 10101 Main St., Bothell; gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. “Waterworks” is an annual exhibition of works exclusively by NWWS members, showcasing the best work of the membership, featuring 55 paintings from 181 entries.

Edmonds Arts Festival Museum Gallery: Frances Anderson Center, 700 Main St., Edmonds; 425-771-1984. 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays. Edmonds artist Karen Simonson is showing mixed media paintings through mid December; Simonson studied with master painter Alden Mason. He became her mentor and she was able to work with him as his studio assistant, seriously exploring her own art potential.

Edmonds Community College Art Gallery: 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays, 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fridays, 1 to 5 p.m. weekends, 20000 68th Ave. W, Lynnwood; www.edcc.edu/gallery/. “Embodied Motifs,” features artist Audineh Asaf’s black and white photography exploring her identity as an Iranian American and the representation of the female body in both cultures. “Embodied Motifs” is her Master of Fine Arts culminating project for Goddard College. Fisherman’s Market &Grill: 1032 West Marine View Drive, Everett; 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Sunday; this new restaurant is featuring an exhibit of local artists: Inger Hutton’s etchings in graphite, watercolor and pastels; Christine Hansen’s encaustic and mixed media and Sandra Kramer’s abstract acrylics; up through Nov. 27.

Lynnwood Convention Center: 3711 196th St., SW, Lynnwood; 425-778-7155; www.lynnwoodcc.com. “Eight from Artech” is a new group exhibit of works from artists who work at Seattle’s Artech. Founded in 1977 by a group of artists, Artech is an art handling and collection management company. Artech regularly helps with the art installations at local museums, public spaces, and private collections. Exhibit is up through Dec. 31.

Mukilteo Art &Frame: 11700 Mukilteo Speedway, No. 408, Mukilteo; 425-315-8506; www.mukilteoartandframe.com; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays; a tree-themed show of 10 local artists’ work for the months of November and December. Stop in to see the artists’ unique interpretations of trees through paintings, photography, jewelry and encaustics.

Ornamental Arts Gallery: 13805 Smokey Point Blvd. Suite 105,Marysville. 425-422-5232; OrnamentalArtsGallery.com; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, 12 to 4 p.m. Sunday, closed Monday and Tuesday. There will be two featured artists for November: Helen Saunders works with multi-media making abstract paintings using acrylic paint, liquid gold, glass, ferns, yarn and other materials to create her paintings on deep canvases; also featured is Dan Bergsma who blows glass into large vases creating patterns and textures as well as forming substantially sized wall platters.

Schack Art Center: 2921 Hoyt Ave., Everett; 425-259-5050; www.schack.org; “Holiday Show”: Featuring the Women Painters of Washington; opening reception 5 to 8 p.m. Nov. 17; up through Dec. 27; this exhibition by the Women Painters of Washington (WPW) will highlight one of few women’s art associations in our country today. The Women Painters of Washington has attracted nationally and internationally recognized artists for more than 80 years.

The Sisters: 2804 Grand Ave., Everett; 425-252-0480; 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays; Marcia Burnham presents watercolor, pastel, oil pastel, acrylic paintings, charcoal and graphite drawings through Jan. 11. There are 25 pieces in this exhibit showcasing landscapes, still lifes and equine art that feature her love for artistic expressions.

Stunningly Strange Gallery: 407 Main St., Edmonds; www.stunninglystrange.com; 425-697-0420 or stunninglystrange@gmail.com. This new gallery will display whimsical, surrealistic, and mixed media art; owner Kaitlin Phillips Goodey will be the first to display her own artwork, which is inspired by fairy tales, playful youth and memories.

Fiber artist Teri Jo Summer has designed clothing using transformational elements of melding palettes, textures and shapes; Dale Reiger creates kiln-formed glass; potter Marcia Muchnick founded Pilgrimage Pottery in 2010 where she creates rustic and functional hand thrown mugs, bowls, platters and vases.

Museum of Northwest Art: 121 S. First St., La Conner; noon to 5 p.m. Sunday and Monday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday; 360-466-4446; www.museumofnwart.org. “Pilchuck: IDEAS”: This is in celebration of 50 years of studio glass work produced at Pilchuck Glass School, featuring pieces from the permanent collection rarely seen off the school’s campus by some of the most important artists working in the medium; through Jan. 1.

Also: “Circular”: An exhibit of pieces from the permanent collection that considers the meaning and influence of the circular form; through Jan. 1.

La Conner Quilt &Textile Museum: 703 S Second St., La Conner; 360-466-4288; www.laconnerquilts.com; “Material Men: Innovation &the Art of Quiltmaking” through Dec. 20. Also, “The Best of the Festival,” an exhibit of the outstanding entries that were judged to be the best at our 2012 Quilt Festival, through Dec. 30.

Seattle

Admission $7 to $13, free ages 12 and under, first Thursdays free for all. “Elles: Women Artists from the Centre Pompidou, Paris and Elles: SAM – Singular Works by Seminal Women Artists; the exhibit runs through Jan. 15 and SAM will present a series of landmark exhibitions and programs showcasing the creative and enduring ambition of women artists of the 20th and 21st centuries. SAM is the only U.S. venue for this display of more than 130 works of art by 75 forward-thinking women artists from 1909 to 2007, including Sonia Delaunay, Frida Kahlo, Dora Maar, Diane Arbus, Cindy Sherman and the Guerrilla Girls.

Seattle Asian Art Museum: 1400 East Prospect St., Seattle; 206-654-3100; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Admission $7 and $5, free ages 12 and under. “Many Arrows from Rama’s Bow: Paintings of the Ramayana” includes 44 works of art from the 16th through the 20th centuries that illustrate one of India’s epic periods. At the same time, “Women’s Paintings from the Land of Sita” explores the work of women who transformed a history of domestic painting into works created for a growing art market. Both exhibitions are on view through Dec. 2.

“Perspectives”: Women Painters of Washington Gallery, 701 Fifth Ave., Columbia Center Building, Suite 310, Seattle; 206-624-0543; www.womenpainters.com; 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday through Jan. 4. The gallery is free and open to the public to see this group art exhibition, showcasing the diversity of 18 member artists from the greater Puget Sound region.
