SEATTLE — The Catholic Archdiocese of Seattle has agreed to pay $635,000 to settle a lawsuit from a man who says he was molested in the 1980s by a youth minister at St. John Vianney Church in Kirkland.
Ralf Eckmann says the man was hired without a background check and the pastor dismissed concerns when they were raised by his parents.
Church spokesman Greg Magnoni told KOMO that the archdiocese is pleased to bring closure to the victim.
