Prep boys soccer: St. George's 1, Providence Classical Christian 0 (OT)

SUMNER -- After defending resolutely throughout the match, Providence Classical Christian yielded a goal to St. George's Erik Muelheims three minutes into the extra time period which decided the boys soccer 1B/2B state semifinal match on Friday.
Providence Classical Christian received an excellent performance from goalkeeper Daniel Mathiason, who stopped six shots, including a kick save on Ty Cowles-Meyer's shot in the first half, but the Highlanders generated few offensive opportunities. Providence Classical Christian had just one shot on goal the entire game, compared to seven for the Dragons.
Providence Classical Christian faces Mount Vernon Christian for the fourth time this season at noon today in the third-fourth place game.

Goals--Erik Muelheims (SG). Assists--none. Goalkeepers--Providence Classical Christian: Daniel Mathiason. St. George's: Peter Worrall. Records--Providence Classical Christian 13-7 overall. St. George's 17-2-1.
