Edmonds: High school plans concerts
Edmonds-Woodway High School has several concerts coming up.
Jazz Night is planned for 7:30 p.m. Dec. 6 in the theater.
A winter concert featuring the orchestra and choir follows at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 11 in the Great Hall.
A second concert featuring bands is set for 7:30 p.m. Dec. 18, also in the Great Hall.
The high school is at 7600 212th St. SW, Edmonds.
The groups include several students selected for All-Northwest and All-State ensembles by the National Association for Music Education Northwest Division.
Mountlake Terrace: Council looks at capital improvements
The City Council plans to review the draft comprehensive plan amendments at its Nov. 29 meeting and hold a public hearing, and on Dec. 3 to consider the Planning Commission’s recommendation to adopt the ordinance.
The meetings begin at 7 p.m. at the Mountlake Terrace Interim City Hall, 6100 219th Street SW, Suite 220, second floor.
Proposed amendments include a six-year capital improvement plan update, a six-year transportation improvement program update, a policy for reducing greenhouse gases, the addition of two bicycle routes and an appendix for the transportation demand strategy.
The proposed comprehensive plan amendments were recommended by the Planning Commission after a public hearing Nov. 13.

Monte Cristo talk at library on Tuesday
Sierra Club officer, civil engineer and hiker Bill Lider plans to talk about the old mining town of Monte Cristo at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Mountlake Terrace Library, 23300 58th Ave. W.
Lider plans to offer a historical presentation and a look into the future as the U.S. Forest Service plans to carry out a court-mandated cleanup of the area, which is east of Verlot near the Mountain Loop Highway.
