Tune in to PBS on KCTS 9 at 8 p.m. Sunday to peek in the leaded glass windows of stately “Downton Abbey” for a preview of Season 3, which begins Jan. 6.
It’s a chance to review the plot twists and turns and the delicious moments of the first two seasons, and to whet your appetite for what the new decade will hold for the occupants, upstairs and down, of the English country manse.
The special includes behind-the-scenes footage and cast interviews, including the newest member of the family, Lady Grantham’s American mother, played by Shirley MacLaine.
Martha Levinson (MacLaine) will no doubt match formidable Dowager Countess, played by Maggie Smith, in wicked and witty asides.
“Downton Abbey Revisited” will be repeated at 9:30 p.m. Sunday, 7:30 and 11 p.m. Dec. 2, noon Dec. 5 and 8 p.m. Dec. 6.
If you haven’t had enough of the Crawleys, go to www.pbs.org/downtonrevisited/home, where you can watch full episodes of seasons 1 and 2, previews of Season 3, cast interviews, and a cool video showing the difficulties of shooting the massive dinner scenes with everyone in attendance.
