Lynnwood council to fill vacancy from four finalists
The Lynnwood City Council plans to appoint a new member tonight to fill a vacancy on the council,
The City Council will choose the new member from among four finalists who were interviewed at the Oct. 19 meeting. The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the council chambers next to the City Hall offices at 19100 44th Ave W, Lynnwood.
Council members picked eight to interview at the Oct. 19 meeting from 15 applicants.
The Council plans to swear in the new council member Dec. 10.
The new council member will serve through the November 2013, election, when he or she could run for a full four-year term.
The vacancy was created when the council dismissed former Councilwoman Kim Cole for excessive absences.
The four finalists are Robert Larson, the Rev. M. Christopher Boyer, Louise Stanton-Maston and Douglas Lovitt.
Council President Loren Simmonds said Sunday that the council wound up with four finalists instead of the three it had planned on because of a tie vote between two.
