Thursday injury report; Bryant and Hill sit again

The Seahawks practiced for the second straight day without defensive end Red Bryant and linebacker Leroy Hill, who are question marks for Sunday's game in Chicago. Bryant's absence could have a particularly big impact if he can't play, because it would lead to changes at two positions. Alan Branch would move from defensive tackle to Bryant's end spot, and rookie Greg Scruggs would take over for Branch.

Defensive coordinator Gus Bradly is confident in both if those changes have to be made.

"Alan played some of the same techniques that Red did last week, so he's practiced it through the week, and all season because we have to have a backup ready just in case that happens," Bradley said.

On Scruggs, Bradley said, "He had a good practice yesterday. I think it's the first time he's really felt completely healthy and let it loose. Hopefully he gets a chance to show some things."

Asked if he thought they'd get this much out of Scruggs, a sixth-round pick, in his rookie season, Bradley said, "Probably not in the beginning, but we saw some glimpses of it in preseason. I think he's going to end up being a pretty good inside rusher for us."
