Taste new Whidbey wine, and help seabirds

Bottoms up for the birds.
Ott & Murphy Wines is helping bird research with the release of a new wine.
The red Bordeaux blend, Mutiny Bay, is named after a Whidbey Island beach with two Pigeon Guillemot nesting colonies.
A release party will toast the bird from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday in the Langley winery's tasting room, 204 First St.
For every bottle sold, $1 will go to the Guillemot Research Group, an organization sponsored by Whidbey Audubon Society and the Island County Marine Resources Committee.
The Pigeon Guillemot is a seabird considered an indicator species, meaning they echo the overall health of the Salish Sea.
The research group has been monitoring the 25 Whidbey Island Pigeon Guillemots since 2004, including the colonies that nest in the bluffs of Mutiny Bay.
