CAMANO ISLAND — No one was hurt after a Geo Prizm apparently rear-ended a school bus on Camano Island on Thursday afternoon.
The crash was reported at 2:50 p.m. along westbound Highway 532, about three miles west of Stanwood, said Trooper Mark Francis with the Washington State Patrol. About 20 teenagers were on board the bus.
Preliminary information was that the school bus was stopped at the time, but troopers were still investigating.
The crash initially was reported as a hit-and-run, but the car’s driver remained on scene and cooperated with police, Francis said.
“No one fled,” he said.
The Prizm’s driver was expected to be cited. Additional details weren’t immediately available. The road was re-opened about 90 minutes later.
