Regarding the incident on Saturday night involving a person running from the police and ultimately crashing to end the chase. According to the article in Tuesday’s Herald, a person was stopped at 38th and Broadway for speeding by a Deputy Sheriff. The officer was able to determine a) that the driver was drunk, and b) that she was driving on a suspended license. The driver abruptly left the scene and sped north on Broadway going through upwards of fourteen traffic lights, at speeds of up to eighty miles an hour. She crashed her SUV at the SR 529 bridge over the Snohomish river, was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and released.
With charges such as reckless driving, speeding, eluding the police, driving under the influence, suspended license, and running red lights, the thought comes to mind – why wasn’t she arrested? I am still not over that judge not getting arrested for drunk-driving and now this comes along. What is happening with law enforcement anyway? I will certainly be waiting to see just what the prosecutor and the courts do with this one.
