DUI topic of show
Snohomish County Sheriff John Lovick and Prosecuting Attorney Mark Roe plan to join a panel Monday on the topic of “driving under the influence” on KRKO 1380 AM to educate residents about impaired driving.
The show is scheduled to air from 5 to 7 p.m. Listeners are encouraged to call in and ask questions regarding DUIs as well as how it relates to the new marijuana laws.
Lovick and Roe will be joined by Washington State Liquor Control Board NW Regional Manager Tom Dixon; a defense attorney from Russell Hill; Lynnwood police drug recognition expert Mark Brinkman; Lynnwood Sgt. Wayne Davis; and a DUI Victim Panel speaker.
Coal terminal meetings: People who would like to speak at hearings in Seattle or Vancouver on the proposed coal terminal at Cherry Point need to enter a random drawing. About 150 speaking slots are planned for each event. The drawings will occur at the start of each hour during the three-hour public meetings. People can enter the drawings at any time before the final drawing.
The drawings replace a process at five previous meetings that assigned speaking slots based on the order in which people arrived. This prompted many attendees to arrive hours before the meetings.
Aside from the meetings, people may comment online, by email or by letter.
The meetings are to be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Clark College, Gaiser Student Center, 1933 Fort Vancouver Way, Vancouver; and 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Washington State Convention Center, 800 Convention Place, Ballroom 6F, in Seattle.
