Wings acquire former Stealth transition player Rabil

The National Lacrosse League announced a blockbuster trade on Friday as the Philadelphia Wings have acquire four transition players from the defending NLL champion Rochester Knighthawks. Former Stealth star Paul Rabil, Jordan Hall, Joel White and Robbie Campbell were sent to the Wings in exchange for forward Dan Dawson, defenseman Paul Dawson and a first-round selection in the 2016 NLL entry draft.

Rabil helped the Stealth the NLL championship game in 2010 and 2011, winning in 2010.

"This trade allows us the opportunity to get the most recognizeable player in the sport to join our team," Wings owner and president Michael French said. "Paul Rabil is in the prime of his career and plays a big part in our plans to get younger and more athletic. Paul can play really any position on the field with his speed and power."

In Dan Dawson, Rochester acquires one of the game's top playmakers. He ranked second in assists with 78 last season and third in points with 103.

The Stealth open the season against the Knighthawks on Jan. 5 at Comcast Arena. The Stealth have yet to face Rabil as an opponent. They travel to Philadelphia on Mar. 9 and host the Wings on Apr. 20.
