New Year’s Eve Concert, Countdown and Celebration: 9 p.m. Dec. 31 at Benaroya Hall, 200 University St., Seattle; 206-215-4747; www.seattlesymphony.org. Ring in the new year with Rachmaninov’s stunning Piano Concerto No. 2 and Beethoven’s 9th Symphony then count down to midnight with Ludovic Morlot at a post-concert party in the Samuel and Althea Stroum Grand Lobby.
