Sno-Isle Libraries offer workshops on e-readers, e-books

So you think there’s a Kindle or Nook under the tree? The Sno-Isle Libraries are offering classes to help you learn how to use your new e-reader and how to download free e-books and audiobooks.

Here’s a list of the classes, but check your local library’s calendar at www.sno-isle.org because more opportunities may be added.

Arlington, 135 N. Washington Ave., 360-435-3033,10:30 a.m. Dec. 27. Registration required. Learn how to use your new e-reader and how to download free books at the library.

Camano Island, 848 N. Sunrise Blvd., 360-387-5150, 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. Jan. 8. 15. 22 and 29. Register in advance. Learn how to get free e-books and other digital media.

Darrington, 1005 Cascade St,, 360-436-1600, all day Dec. 26 and 29. Learn how to use your new e-reader and how to download free books at the library.

Langley, 104 Second St., 360-221-4383. 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Jan. 10. Registration required. If you’d like to download a book during class, bring your laptop and e-reader or audio device, or your Wi-Fi enabled device.

Snohomish, 311 Maple Ave., 360-568-2898, 10 a.m. Dec. 28, 2 p.m. Dec. 30, 2 p.m. Jan. 2 and 4, and 10 a.m. Jan. 7 and 12. Registration required. To download a book, bring your laptop and e-reader and your valid library card. If you have an Amazon, Adobe or Barnes &Noble account, you will need your account ID and password.

Stanwood, 9701 271st St. NW, 360-629-3132, 3 p.m. Dec. 27, 10 a.m. Dec. 28 and 31, 3 p.m. Jan. 3, 10 a.m. Jan. 4, 2 p.m. Jan. 8, and 3 p.m. Jan. 16. Learn the basics of searching and browsing for e-books for Kindle available through the library’s Overdrive media. No Kindle is necessary.
