Front Porch: Medical job fair coming in January

WorkSource Snohomish County plans a medical job fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 31 at its Everett location, in the Weyerhauser Room on the fourth floor of Everett Station, 3201 Smith Ave.
Network with recruiters from retirement homes, clinics, private practices, in-home health service providers and large hospitals. Bring copies of resumes and cover letters. Computer rooms will be available.

School officials plan property update: Edmonds schools Superintendent Nick Brossoit's next lunchtime Q-and-A will focus on property updates and an explanation of what money the district receives beyond local, state and federal sources.
Stewart Mhyre, executive director of business and operations, will present and take questions.
The monthly Superintendent's Roundtable gathering is set for noon to 1 p.m. Jan. 9 in the board room at the Educational Service Center, 20420 68th Ave. W., Lynnwood.
Lunch is not provided.

Student rep needed: The Edmonds Sister City Commission is taking applications for a student representative. The commission oversees Edmonds' sister city relationship with Hekinan, Japan.
The applicant must be a resident of Edmonds and have a strong interest in Japan. Duties include attending meetings on the fourth Monday evening of the month and assisting with events around the mayor's delegation to Hekinan in April and the Hekinan delegation for the commission's 25th anniversary in October. Special projects include the commission's booth at the Edmonds' Farmer's Market and recruiting students.
The student representative would serve through Aug. 31, and possibly extend into the 2013-14 school year.
