Celebrate the new year in the lane or on skates

It’s time to ring in the new year, so pick your poison.

Will you celebrate with some comedy or a trip to the casino? Do you prefer a skate night with the kids or perhaps a little moonlight bowling?

Whatever your pleasure, here’s a selection of New Year’s Eve events to choose from:

Imagine Children’s Museum: The museum, 1502 Wall St., Everett, is usually closed Mondays but will be open for daytime and nighttime New Year’s Eve activities:

From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, activities include a 1:30 p.m. performance in the Lodge by the African drum troupe Gansango. Admission is $9.

Doors will open for the New Year’s Eve party at 6 p.m. Tickets must be shown at the door for entry to the evening event, which runs from 6 to 9 p.m. and includes a 40-foot ball drop, a DJ, a magician and art projects. Tickets are $15 general, $10 for museum members, and are available at the museum’s front desk and on the website, www.imaginecm.org. Tickets will be available at the door as available for $20 general, $15 for members.

Bowling alleys

New Year’s Eve Ball: Bowl for two and half hours in a “disco light” setting; party hats and noisemakers; $99.99 per lane for up to seven people; big screen televisions air Space Needle festivities; 9:30 p.m. Monday at Brunswick Majestic Lanes, 1222 164th St. SW, between Lynnwood and Mill Creek. Moonlight Bowling: Party favors and four games with cash prizes; 9:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. Monday, Evergreen Lanes, 5111 Claremont Way, Everett. Cost is $20, including shoes. Call 425-259-7206.

Moonlight Bowling Party: Sandwiches, party hats, party favors and four games of bowling; 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Monday, 9801 Edmonds Way, Edmonds. Cost: $30 prepaid and $35 at the door. Call 425-776-2101.

New Year’s Eve: Two hours of bowling, lights, disc jockey and party favors such as hats and streamers; 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Monday, Strawberry Lanes, 1067 Columbia Ave., Marysville. Cost $25. Call 360-659-7641.

Skate parties

New Year’s Eve Parties: 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Monday; $7 or All Nite Skate: 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.; $25; prices include party favors at Everett Skate Deck, 9700 19th Ave. SE, Everett; 425-337-0202 or www.everettskatedeck.com.

New Year’s Eve All Night Skate: 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.; games and prizes all night; party for families includes hats and noisemakers at Skate Inn, 7313 44th Ave. NE, Marysville. Cost is $30 at the door. Call 360-659-3900 or www.marysvilleskateinn.com.
