Get help applying for financial aid for college at five workshops in Snohomish County in January.
Students and their families can get free, professional help filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid for college for 2013-2014. The form is required for students to be considered for federal and state grants, loans and scholarships.
Help is available at the following locations:
Monday: 6-8:30 p.m., Stanwood High School, 7400 272nd St. NW, Stanwood.
Jan. 12: 1-5 p.m., Everett High School, 2416 Colby Ave., Everett.
Jan. 14: 5:30-7:30 p.m., Cascade High School, 801 E. Casino Road, Everett.
Jan. 24: 6-8 p.m., Everett Community College East Campus, 14090 Fryelands, Blvd., Lake Tye Building, Ste. 373, Monroe.
Jan. 26: 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Everett Community College Main Campus, 2000 Tower St., Everett.
To register for the event, go to www.collegegoalsundaywa.org. Registration is not required to attend, but allows volunteers to have a better sense of the number of people planning to attend.
The website provides information about what is needed to complete the FAFSA, as well as helpful tips and other event locations throughout the state.
Roundabout meeting set in Edmonds: Edmonds is hosting a public meeting on the Five Corners roundabout at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 9 in the Plaza Room above the Edmonds Library, 650 Main St.
The city has completed the environmental documents and 90 percent of the design plans for the project.
A brief presentation starting at 6 p.m. will cover the general improvements, recent progress and schedule.
It will be followed by the opportunity for the public to work in small groups with project team members.
