OLYMPIA -- Gov.-elect Jay Inslee has named three new top staffers.

Former Seattle Times political reporter David Postman, who also worked as a spokesman for Paul Allen's Vulcan Inc., will be Inslee's executive director of communications. Joby Shimomura, a longtime aide to Inslee when he served in Congress, will work as a senior advisor and Ted Sturdevant will be executive director for legislative affairs. Sturdevant has been director of Washington's Department of Ecology and also led former Gov. Gary Locke's external affairs team.

The Democrat Inslee will be sworn in Jan. 16.
