Everett vs. Spokane: lineup notes

EVERETT

Forward lines:
Winquist-Hayer-Oslanski
Harrison-Bauml-Petryk
Soumelidis-Stadnyk-Aasman
Skapski-Low

Defensive pairings:
Walters-Adam
Betker-Cox
MacDonald-Zipp
Davis

Starting goalie:
Lotz

Scratches: Mappin, Sandhu, Leedahl, Raymond, Grayson, Mueller, Murray.

Notes: Everett gives a WHL debut to 15-year-old defenseman Kevin Davis, the team's first-round pick in the 2012 bantam draft. With Davis dressed, the Tips elect to go with seven defensemen and 11 forwards. Call-up winger Logan Aasman is preferred to Lucas Grayson. Defenseman Mirco Mueller (World Juniors) and forwards Tyler Sandhu (U-17s) and Ty Mappin (U-17s) have yet to return from international duty. Defenseman Ryan Murray (shoulder) and winger Dawson Leedahl (knee) are out injured.

SPOKANE

Forward lines:
Fiddler-Aviani-Gal
Valcourt-Walchuk-Holmberg
Helewka-Stewart-Chartier
Predinchuk-Proft-Whittingham/Playfair

Defensive pairings:
Gow-Kichton
King-Wedman
McIntosh-Fram

Starting goalie:
Hughson

Scratches: Mort, Kalus, Rimmel, Power, Whittingham/Playfair.

Notes: Spokane plays without winger Marek Kalus, who just recently returned from a long-term upper-body injury. In goal Garret Hughson receives a start in place of No. 1 Eric Williams. Defensemen Tanner Mort and Adam Power are both out with upper-body injuries. Both of wingers Riley Whittingham and Jackson Playfair will take the warm-up, but only one will play. Trivia note: Spokane's 25-player roster is identical to the last time the Chiefs visited Comcast Arena on Oct. 26. No cuts, no trades, no call-ups.
