Police warn of luring suspect in Granite Falls

GRANITE FALLS -- Officials in Granite Falls are warning parents about a strange man who reportedly approached a high-school girl earlier this week.

The girl ran home and told her parents, according to school district officials. Police also were told and alerted the schools.

The incident reportedly occurred about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of S. Alder Avenue and E. Galena Street.

A white cargo van pulled up in front of the girl. A man got out and ran toward the girl, who got away, school district officials said.

The man was described as white, about 6 feet tall and wearing a black zip-up jacket and black pants. The van had tinted windows and some kind of lettering on the side.

Police are investigating. Anyone with information should 360-691-6611.
