DUVALL -- Andrew Ayers scored 16 points to lead King's past Cedarcrest 56-52 in a battle of the top two teams in the Cascade Conference.

The contest between the two previously conference unbeatens was close throughout until the Knights pulled away in the games final eight minutes.

"We had the lead going into the fourth quarter," said King's assistant coach Christian Taylor. "We kept about a six-to-eight point lead throughout. (Cedarcrest) hit a three as time expired (to give the game its final score)."

Assisting Ayers for the Knights was senior guard Caleb Taylor, finishing with 12 points, and sophomore forward Calvin Kispert, who finished with seven points.

The Red Wolves were paced by Zach Taylor's 16 points.

With the victory King's (6-0, 10-3) now stands alone in first place in the Cascade Conference, while Cedarcrest (5-1, 6-6) falls to second after suffering their first conference loss.
