Police ID suspect in Lake Stevens burglary (video)

LAKE STEVENS -- Police believe they've identified a suspect in a burglary caught on camera earlier this year near Lake Stevens.

A neighborhood surveillance camera apparently shows a man breaking into a house through a window. Neighbors circulated the video (above) via social media in hopes of generating tips.

The Snohomish County sheriff's office is investigating, spokeswoman Shari Ireton said Tuesday.

The burglary was reported about 4 p.m. Jan. 9 in the 4400 block of 95th Avenue NE, just north of Highway 92.

Detectives this week were working to assemble documentation to establish probable cause for the man's arrest, Ireton said.

The man also is under investigation for failure to register as a Level 1 sex offender. The underlying conviction dates from 2005.
